The 833rd Cyberspace Operations Squadron, located at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, is aligned under the 567th Cyberspace Operations Group, 67th Cyberspace Wing, 24th Air Force, Air Combat Command.


The squadron provides premier defensive cyberspace operations maneuver and mission assurance capabilities to its mission partners. The 833rd COS has administrative control over and is responsible for organizing, training and equipping three cyber protection teams. Each CPT is postured to conduct tailored DCO missions via a three-phase survey, secure and protect employment methodology.

Mission: To present, plan, and execute cyberspace operations in order to defend national informational networks against cyber threats.

Vision: Provide the Department of Defense’s most aggressive cyber mission force, protecting national cyber key terrain.

The 833rd COS consists of approximately 120 military, civilian and contract employees.

The 833rd COS is one of six DCO squadrons under the 567th COG. The squadron presents forces to the cyber national mission force, which is responsible for defending national informational networks against cyber threats.

Capabilities: The 833rd COS presents forces to U.S. Cyber Command as part of the CMF construct. Forces are presented as CPTs comprised of five squads with specialized capabilities: mission protection, cyberspace readiness, cyber support, discover and counter-infiltration and cyber threat emulation.
