624th Operations Center

The 624th Operations Center, located at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, is aligned under 24th Air Force, Air Combat Command.

The unit receives orders and tasks from U.S. Cyber Command and, in turn, tasks 24th AF subordinate units to perform a wide range of cyber missions in support of Air Force and joint force commanders.

Mission: Command and control cyberspace forces: operate, defend and engage.

Vision: Department of Defense's transformational leader in full-spectrum cyberspace operations; delivering outcomes on time and on target with a spirit of innovation and creativity.

Organization: The 624th OC consists of four divisions: intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; combat plans; combat operations; and strategy. The unit reports directly to the 24th AF commander.

Lineage: Designated as the 145th Airways and Air Communications Service Squadron on May 14, 1948. Organized on June 1, 1948. Redesignated as the 1957th Airways and Air Communications Service Squadron on Oct. 1, 1948; 1957th Airways and Air Communications Service Group on Sept. 18, 1959; Headquarters, 1957th Airways and Air Communications Service Group on Oct. 8, 1959; Headquarters, 1957th Communications Group on July 1, 1961; 1957th Information Systems Group on Aug. 1, 1984; 1957th Communications Group on Nov. 1, 1986. Inactivated on April 13, 1992. Redesignated as the 624th Operations Center on Aug. 11, 2009. Activated on Aug. 18, 2009. (More)
